At the beginning of each new year, there is a big Celtic Connections festival (here in Glasgow. Last year, I wasn't able to attend any of the events because i was busy & skint (Scottish for 'short on cash'). But this year was a different story. I was able to make only two events of the many, but I am glad I had the chance to anyway. So this year, I finally got to see one of my favorite English folk musicians (sorry about the freight train wording there...) whose name is Kate Rusby. (http://www.katerusby.com/) Her concert was stellar! Even the opening act was great! Roddy Woomble of Idlewild (www.idlewild.co.uk) played some nice tunes. My favorite is "Waverly Steps"...which I guess you just have to visit when you arrive in Scotland. :o)
